One of the biggest challenge I have at my Internship is being confident. Most of the time Mr. Rodriguez gives me tasks, such as to edit a document or write in what is necessary in a form. At times, I doubt myself whether if I should write a certain thing down or not. However, Mr. Rodriguez notices and tells me to not doubt myself because I might be correct. Nevertheless, If I am wrong, It is always an opportunity for me to learn something new. At my Internship site, usually there is no challenges. Nonetheless, today we had a client that was mad because he said our service wasn't good. Yet, he was the one causing this issue. Mr. Rodriguez called this gentleman back and asked him what was going on. Once the men spoke to Mr. Rodriguez was able to manage this issue and the men calmed down. I think It is very important how certain things are handled at the office !

The blogs that I read were; Cindy Ocotitla, Eliott Jimenez, & Daniel Marquez. These three classmates have differents perspectives from their Internship. It seems like Daniel is enjoying his Internship a lot and the reason why I think that is because he mentions that he is very excited and passionate about what he is doing. His Internship is very unique and I think It’s an awesome opportunity for him. Cindy seems to be having fun as well, I think she fits In this Internship because she has a sweet personality and I think It’s easier for her to collaborate with the kids.I think Eliott got a great Internship as well ! It seems like he likes to help others, and speak his opinion to certain topics. In this case, helping students with their work, Is a great way for him to express his opinion by helping the students. As far, I believe that Cindy, Elliott, and me have a similar role. For what I’ve seen In their blogs, they’re being organized and helping others. My job In the Internship is to be organize with files and attend clients when necessary. Thus far the only difference I see is that Daniel’s environment seems like a lot of movement. Where I’m at is usually quiet and mellow.

Everyday is different and even though we have a calendar In which everything is organized, every day is a surprise. Usually, I walk into the office, check the calendar, but I still have a surprise because everyday, I am learning new things. The only thing I see changing from the way I consider my future to be is that, I have to know the laws and mostly, remember some history events. I obviously did expect for the job to be busy, so it’s not as different from thoughts. At my Internship, I have seen my role developing very well. I think that I have learned many things these past two weeks and I am actually understanding what Mr. Rodriguez tells and advices me.
At my Internship workplace, social interaction usually occurs in the afternoons. Throughout the day, mostly everyone is busy. Mr. Rodriguez is always attending or calling clients and filling out paperwork. Maria is the one taking calls and receiving clients into the office. Meanwhile Mr. Estolano is at court with clients, and when he’s in the office he meets with clients or calls them. It can be said that my co-workers are isolated most of the time. However, Maria helps out Mr. Rodriguez or Mr. Estolano. In the office there is only 4 people. Maria, Rosa, Mr. Rodriguez and Mr. Estolano. Rosa Is a Notary and basically she’s always doing her own thing. Rosa and Mr. Rodriguez have an open space, while Mr. Estolano has his small office. Although, Rosa and Mr. Rodriguez have an open space, Mr. Rodriguez is always getting his things done in a conference room. It can said that- that’s his room. Usually there’s not much projects done in the office, however, there's always collaboration here and there. The social dynamic in the office reflects the organization's work at a 50% rate. I think what is most important at the office is how the clients are treated. Since Maria takes the office calls and the clients are from Mr. Rodriguez and Mr. Estolano, then It’s important how the clients are getting attended by her. Mr. Rodriguez and Mr. Estolano sometimes share clients so it’s important how they treat those clients as well, in order for those clients to come back and recommend us to other people.

This process is short, however some cases are very long. Mostly some cases that my mentor deals with are divorces. In most divorces we have to deal with; kids, belongings, houses, etc. When it comes to the kids, child support is an important base that the clients asks for or deal with. Some skills that I will be using for this project are acdemic and creativity. When It comes to academic, I will be using math and writing. I will be using math for the money of child support, work income for adults, etc. The most important academic is writing. I will be using creativity for letters and responses for clients. This project will benefit the organization because out of all the skills that I will be using, thanks to Mr. Rodriguez, the clients will be satisfied from the work and will recommend to their friends and family. That way the organization will always have clients !
Today my mentor, Jose Rodriguez called in because he wasn't feeling good. Unfortunetly, he had cough, and headache's throughout the last days of last week. However, today I woke up at 6:00 a.m. and started my day, by going on little journey's to store and my aunt's house, with my mom. Hopefully tomorrow my mentor will feel better and I will be back at my internship. The people that benefit from the work that I do at my Internship are the Mr. Rodriguez and I. I am saying that we benefit from my work because since he’s my mentor, he’s obviously teaching me many things that will definitely help me out in my future career. By learning all these small details, I’m benefiting him, but mostly myself as a student. However, the people that benefit from my work are the clients. Mr. Rodriguez makes me write few letters, addresses on envelopes, and I read his work just In case he has a small mistakes. Basically, this benefits the clients because their cases are being taking care of by Mr. Rodriguez and Mr. Estolano. The clients don’t have to worry about what they have to say or write because Mr. Rodriguez and I are trying to fix every paper work that the client's need for their court. I've been getting to know Maria little by little but this far she seems very kind. When starting her career, she started of doing internships for a dentist. The internship was part of a 6 to 7 month class she took to become a dentist in Los Angeles, CA. Afterwards Maria started working at a dentist office, however she lived in Tijuana, Mexico. When her father passed away she started living in San Diego. Maria started working at a child support service department. Maria began working with Mr. Estolano's mother for 8 years. She then met Mr. Ray Estolano, the attorney at law office. When people enter the office she is the one to greet them and asks them who the clients have an appointment with. Maria also takes and transfers the calls in the office. She files, mails, and takes care of the money. Nevertheless, Maria is a very hard working women and is a great co worker.
One thing that I'm most surprised of since I started this internship is that even though everything seems relaxed, a lot of things are being done at the office. Everyday Mr. Rodriguez and I check the calendar first thing in the morning to see what appointments he has scheduled for the day. If there's not much appointments , we have to prepare documents for different cases. Also, we have to prepare mail to send to court and to clients. The first day I walked into the office for my site visit , I thought everything was relaxed because I saw everyone in their computer. However, after being there for three days, I realized that most of their job gets done by the computer.
My company does not have a mission statement. Mr. Estolano and Mr. Rodriguez like to have a simple environment. However, a mission stament that I would give my company is, " we talk law not feelings or corrupt." I like that because in reality this office is great at what they do. Of course they need money to start a case , but they won't steal your money because they will always know what is right and what is not. They love helping people, but they do it all through the California law. I really see this mission statement in their office for many things that I've noticed going on there.
The office that I work in is Ray Estolano Office Law. My mentor is Jose Rodriguez. He is a professional lawyer that specializes on cases such as, divorce and domestic violence. Mr. Rodriguez has two offices. The one in which he works the most is the Estolano Office and they're both located in Chula Vista. Mr. Rodriguez retired from his job a while ago. However, he loves his job and continues to work prior to his passion. Every day he is very busy, but even though he's always busy , Mr. Rodriguez can be sarcastic and is full of enthusiasm. He teaches college students & also teaches catechism in a Catholic Church. At age 18 he bought his first home. Never has Mr. Rodriguez stopped being so committed. Unfortunately Mr. Rodriguez has diabetes due to his job. Overall, he loves what he does and no one can stop him !
